Tracksmith, the “premium performance apparel” e-tailer for runners co-founded by Wellesley’s Matt Taylor in mid-2014, is plotting to turn the space at 1 Crest Rd. across from the Wellesley Square train station into a showroom/retail space for the brand.
Tracksmith, which has its primary offices at 23 Central St., most likely wouldn’t have the Crest Road spot operational until the summer, Taylor says. The business likes to promote the fact that it’s located at roughly the halfway point of the Boston Marathon.
1 Crest Rd., most recently was occupied by girls’ apparel/accessories shop Ivivva, which relocated to Natick Mall last summer.
The address in recent years has been home to numerous businesses, including the Wellesley Townsman, a bead shop and a lacrosse goods store.
