The Wellesley Men’s Group, sponsored by the Wellesley Service League, invites any local retired gentlemen to join the next meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at the Wellesley Friendly Aid Building from 2 –3 p.m. Dr. Olivier de Weck, professor of aeronautics and astronautics at MIT, will be speaking about “Space Exploration and Logistics – Humanity as a Multi-Planet Species.”
Prof. de Weck’s faculty bio says that he “is a leader in systems engineering research. He focuses on how complex man-made systems such as aircraft, spacecraft, automobiles, printers and critical infrastructures are designed and how they evolve over time. His main emphasis is on strategic properties that have the potential to maximize lifecycle value.”
In previous months, the Wellesley Service League Men’s Group welcomed Mike Dowling, former NewsCenter 5’s sports reporter, and Deborah Brown, one of the founders and reporters for the Swellesley Report.
The Wellesley Service League assists in driving members, if needed. For more information about the group, rides to the meeting, and/or to RSVP contact Patti DuFour at pattidu4@verizon.net or 781-718-1874.
