Free Red Sox spectacular headed for Wellesley’s Hunnewell Field

May 23, 2016 by Bob Brown 12 Comments

Monster Fun Day

All sorts of Red Sox-related activities will be the focus of Monster Fun Day at Hunnewell Field in Wellesley on June 25 from 11am-3pm. (The event will be on the fields near the tennis courts and baseball fields along Rte. 16, NOT at Hunnewell Elementary School.)

Looks like characters such as Wally, his sister Tessie and the stilts guy will be on hand, as will former Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek and other former players (who will sign autographs for free). Other highlights will include a kids’ zone and skills challenges. Food, music, and those ubiquitous World Series trophies will also be part of the fun.

Does anyone know for sure which Hunnewell Field it’s at? There’s like 3 in Wellesley.

I was wondering cause I’ve checked out a few different sources and some say near the tennis courts and others say Hunnewell Elementary so I don’t know who to believe.

It’s not at Hunnewell Elementary School. It’s over at the fields near Whole Foods (one of the sponsors). You wont be able to miss it if you drive up along Rte. 16 that day I’m sure

            redsox.com says otherwise. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/fan_forum/mobile-showcase/

That is confusing. But I have checked with the organizers and they assure me that the event is taking place at 438 Washington St, which is the address for the Hunnewell Fields along Rte. 16. http://www.monsterfunday.com/

The only one specified on the flyer is Jason Varitek, but it does say multiple players. Got impression it wouldnt include current ones, but dont know that for sure.
