Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project and local restaurants next week will begin testing a program for delivering free healthy meals to dozens of Wellesley residents undergoing cancer treatment. The service will be provided through June by volunteers from 11:30am-4pm Monday through Friday.
A grant from the Wellesley Turkey Trot has enabled the service to get off the ground. If the trial is successful, the program will be expanded to include more restaurants in the fall.
The service is in line with other WCPP efforts, including its free SmartScan mobile app for food shopping, designed to encourage healthier eating. That tool is available on the Apple App Store.
