Wellesley High School seniors Alexa Marcasciano and Matthew Tom have put together an art display at Newton-Wellesley Hospital designed to explore mental health in a unique way.
The students, who take part in the Interact club designed to normalize the conversation around mental health and wellness, assembled their senior project based on anonymous responses to questions about mental health posed to NWH patients and visitors. The poetry and visual art that resulted can be found in the South Hallway of the hospital.
After graduation from Wellesley High, Marcasciano will attend Cornell and Tom will head off to Hamilton.
Separately, Interact club members help to facilitate a curriculum focused on breaking free from depression that reached over 400 students this year. A recruiting event for rising Freshman and older occurs Monday, May 23, 5:30-6:30pm at 103 Old Colony Rd., in Wellesley. Pizza will be served.
