Wellesley kids’ sports roundup: baseball & soccer champs; field hockey club registration opens

Congrats to the Wellesley Little League’s National League Giants for winning the championship, topping a tough Braves team twice in the playoffs, including a big 10-4 victory in the final game. Most kids in this league are 4th graders.

Separately, the Wellesley Girls Soccer GU-11 Wildcats celebrated an undefeated season and won the President’s Cup. The team scored 52 goals on the season and let in just 8 during the regular season.  The team, coached by Hank Hudepohl and David Levine, beat Natick in the President’s Cup Tournament by a 3-2 score. Fall 2016 Session

Sundays @ Wellesley College Turf Field

September 18 -November 6 (No practice held on Columbus Day weekend)

2 Sessions are being offered:

Grades 1-3 (3:15 pm – 4:30 pm)

Grades 4-7 (1:45 pm – 3:00 pm)

Cost $155 per player

• All players need to be USA Field Hockey members for the entire duration of the Fall session.

• You need to have a valid USA Field Hockey membership # when registering online.

• Only 90 players for each session (Grades 1-3 & Grades 4-7) will be allowed to register due to player

safety & low player/coach ratio.

• Only credit card payments (VISA, Mastercard, Discover) will be processed (no checks)

Registration is now open to all Wellesley residents and/or students. Wellesley deadline: June 30

General Registration deadline: July 15
