
Henry Platt on Monday night conducted his last official concert as Wellesley Middle School band director, and handed over the baton to his successor, Wellesley Public Schools alum David Adams.
Wellesley Middle School music teacher Mr. Platt, director of the WMS Band and Jazz Band for nearly 30 years, recently announced he would be retiring (here are scenes from his retirement event).
The All Town Band Concert on Monday featured elementary band students, the 6th grade band and the Town Band/community band (which Platt says he’ll continue to conduct).
Henry Platt sports a carrot hat — the result of him accidentally referring to a song as Carrots of the Pirabbean — an error the kids didn’t let him get away with.

He was a lovely boy ! I looked after him and his sisters mid 1960s Martha nell and Caroline. Henry used to let me borrow his record player ! And we play the late Burrell Ives !the soda water fountain !lol I would love to here from him fond memories !
