This from the Wellesley Department of Public Works:
The town’s contractor, Heimlich Landscaping & Construction Corp. started work on the high school track & field early last week. The rubberized track surface layer, the 3′ high perimeter track fencing, and the football goal posts were all removed. The contractor is in the process of removing the topsoil layer over the football field. Approximately 14 inches of the topsoil is being bulldozed into a pile where it will first be screened and then shipped off to the Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway yard for storage. From there it will be used on a variety of future projects. All photo credits to the Wellesley DPW.
