Wellesley Track & Field project, late summer pictures

The following is an update on the Track & Field project from the Wellesley Department of Public Works. All photo credits to the DPW. Of note: the original Track & Field grand opening date of September 24 has been pushed a few weeks to mid-October.

The contractor continues the field work on the track and field. In addition, sidewalk work along Smith St. has begun with the installation of granite curbing.

The Wellesley Park Division trimming the low hanging tree branches on the visitors’ grandstand side. These branches would interfere with the installation of the visitors’ bleachers and obstruct the spectators view, therefore trimming was required.

Contractor installing the cement concrete anchor curb along the western end-zone side. The cement concrete must be at a certain consistency in order for the machine to mold the curb.
