The Wellesley Society of Artists presents artist Evelyn Bernal, who will demonstrate painting in acrylic on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 2-4pm at the Wellesley Community Center, 219 Washington St. This event is free and open to the public.
Bernal came to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic 40 years ago to pursue a degree in microbiology. Working for years in this field, she always had a passion for painting and started pursuing night classes at the Newton Art School in 1997, and then shortly afterward, at the Danforth School. She has been studying acrylic with Maris Platais for the past five years and currently teaches watercolor at the Rhode Island Water Color Society.
