Wellesley College to pomp and circumstance the heck out of its new president

Wellesley College has rolled out the red carpet, raised tents all over campus, and is making a general fuss befitting their incoming queen bee, President Dr. Paula A. Johnson. Johnson, the school’s 14th president and its first African American president, will be inaugurated Friday afternoon, and the pre-event madness has already begun for students, faculty, alumni, and honored guests. From yawn-worthy symposiums to events that will surely inspire cacophonies of cheers, the college has it all covered. Here are a few pics of the calm before Dr. Johnson officially storms the castle (she’s actually been on the job since July 1).
