Wellesley Track & Field progress, latest pics from DPW

The following is an update on the Track & Field project from the Wellesley Department of Public Works. All photo credits to the DPW. The project is expected to be ready for action in mid-October.

The wall frames of the two ticket booths were installed.

 

Concrete curbing was installed on the interior side of the track opposite of the visitor’s bleachers. The “U” shaped curbing will channel the drainage water from the track into the underground drainage system.

Contractor installing the underdrain pipe system under the football field. The pipe is uncoiled across the field and backfilled with crushed stone.

The uncoiled drainage pipe will be buried under 10” of crushed stone.

A truck dumping crushed stone for burying the underdrain pipe. The purpose of the drainage pipe is to help collect and channel the rain water infiltrating into the artificial turf and prevent the field from flooding during rainy weather.
