Farmers to discuss “The Dirty Life” at Babson on Nov. 1

Farmers Kristin (author of The Dirty Life: A Memoir of Farming, Food, and Love on Essex Farm) and Mark Kimball, will speak at Babson College on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Richard W. Sorenson Center for the Arts.

When writer Kristin Kimball interviewed a young farmer in Pennsylvania on a magazine assignment, she had no idea she would abandon her cosmopolitan lifestyle to follow him to the shores of Lake Champlain, to help start an organic farm and try out a revolutionary business model. She recounts all this in The Dirty Life: A Story of Farming, Food and Love (2010), translated into a dozen languages (and read in many classes at Babson).
