Sue Webb, the Wellesley animal control officer who started the Stray Pets in Need (SPIN) shelter 25 years ago, is being honored on Oct. 20 at a fundraiser for the shelter.
SPIN has a house where cats (and sometimes dogs, rabbits, and other animals) are brought as strays and surrenders, and cared for by volunteers until they are ready to go to Kitty City, the SPIN adoption center at Pet World in Natick, or placed in foster care or straight to adoption. Close to 9,000 animals have found their homes through SPIN.
Tickets for the Oct. 20 event, from 6-8pm at The Dolphin in Natick, are available on the SPIN website.
