The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC), a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to community service, is now accepting applications for grants now through February 1, 2017.
In the last five years, WHJWC has given away almost half a million dollars. In 2016, the club awarded $65,000 across 30 grants to Wellesley and Metrowest organizations. The club donates to a variety of educational, youth, elderly, civic and community programs. Particular emphasis is placed on those programs that have a significant impact on the Wellesley community. Last year, the club restructured the Grants process, aiming to make a greater community impact through fully funding concrete programs. The club will continue this approach for 2017.
Application forms can be downloaded online at www.whjwc.org. Completed applications should be sent by e-mail to the attention of Janice Kwan at whjwcgrants@gmail.com or if email is not possible mailed to WHJWC Grants, PO Box 81194, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481-0002. Applications must be received or postmarked by February 1, 2017.
WHJWC was established in 1944 as a service organization under the Massachusetts Federation of Women’s Clubs. Through its four fundraisers –the Wellesley Marketplace, Luminary Night, the Kitchen and Home Tour and the 5K Wonder Run – the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club raises money that is donated both as grants to local charities and as scholarships to Wellesley High School students.
