Please don’t shoot the messenger: Word is that the La Riviera restaurant space at 390 Washington St., in Wellesley that went dark about a year ago will be filled by another bank. Not sure which one yet…
More than you really want to know about Wellesley, Mass.
I won’t shoot the messenger, but clearly, the messenger recognizes that there would be more popular choices for the space.
For example, we would like to see a something that plays in the pizza-type space (e.g., not waitstaff sitdown) but which serves something other than fried stuff or pizza. Something like another Paris Creperie location or longer hours at Tutto Italiano (please, please, please! so much business is being lost from those of us who simply cannot get there by 6pm! Even 6:30 would make a difference!) or the Linden Store. And outdoor seating, too, please.
Then again, maybe we just haven’t cottoned on to the fact some people in Wellesley actually eat money, which would explain the proliferation of banks.
OMG we do not need another bank, or real estate office or chain store in Wellesley! Stop, stop, stop. I rarely go to the downtown area unless I am going to the bookstore. I think most people in town have a bank account already. Most people have a trusted real estate person and don’t need to walk down Central Ave to search for one. This truly is ruining the character of the town.
I find it interesting that the only businesses that can seem to afford to operate in Wellesley are the two that took down the economy in 2008: real estate and banking…
