Alba, a contemporary women’s clothing boutique, has opened at 22 Church St. in Church Square. Co-owner Kate Phelan, a local girl who grew up just down the road in Weston, has brought style galore including bomber jackets by Love Token ($198); fleece-lined leggings for those cold days to come ($58); pants, both ripped and intact; and more.
Alba replaces Haberdashery, which cleared out of 22 Church St. in June. Meanwhile, NRO Kids says it has temporarily closed down its Church Street store, although that was back in mid-October, which seems like an awfully long temporary condition. It is noteworthy that there is a “for lease” sign in the window leading us to believe that perhaps NRO Kids is Not Remaining Open in Church Square. In addition to these changes, a gift shop called Xylem has moved in at 30 Church St.
Alba is showing an interest in helping area young people who are interested in the fashion industry. The company is currently seeking a fashion intern. The education qualifications are high school or equivalent, and the intern will gain experience in Social Media and PR, Visual Merchandising and Buying, and office management.
