Wellesley’s Michael Arumainayagam will be featured playing the cello in an upbeat music video being released this Thursday by From the Top, an outfit that celebrates classically-trained musicians aged 8 to 18, including through NPR’s From the Top program.
The music video for featuring Jon Batiste’s song “Express Yourself” includes the 16-year-old Wellesley cellist plus more than a dozen other Boston-area musicians and artists. The video, filmed at the headquarters of Artists for Humanity in South Boston in October, was inspired by the Social Music concept of Batiste, the music director of Late Night with Stephen Colbert.
