Yogurtology, the frozen yogurt chain that set up at White Mountain Creamery’s former spot in Wellesley Square a little more than a year ago, has shut down. A sign on the shop’s window thanks customers for their patronage.

Despite good reviews of the product by those who frequented the shop (plus all the great math strategies kids learned by trying to maximize food quantity when you pay by the ounce), we noticed sparse crowds through the windows most times we went by. So this closing has come as no surprise to many in town.
One recent way in which Yogurtology did go out in style was by sponsoring the annual Wellesley Theatre Project Cone Crawl in September along with the other ice cream and frozen yogurt joints in town.

If you really need a Yogurtology fix in the days or weeks ahead, they do list 12 locations spread across Florida and Arizona. Meanwhile, others are ready to move on: “Cinnamon roll and pie shop!” wrote one reader to us.
Not surprised. Any “truly” good yogurt / ice cream shop does not measure their portions. Scoop it, stack it & serve it! Simple concept and what made White Mountain a gem for so many years!
