The Wellesley Society of Artists is hosting a watercolor demonstration by nationally renowned artist Frederick Kubitz on Thursday, November 10, from 7-9pm. (refreshments at 6:30) at the Wakelin Room of the Wellesley Free Library. The event is free and open to the public.
Frederick (Fritz) Kubitz started his professional life as an architect, and took up painting on the side to relax. Now he paints full time.
His architectural sense led him to develop a keen eye for the structure and aesthetics of buildings, which he often incorporates into his paintings, especially scenes of Boston. Kubitz also has an affinity for the sea and coastlines, and all things New England.
Kubitz’s work can be found in corporate and private collections, and he has received numerous awards from organizations such as the American Watercolor Society International Exhibition and Guild of Boston Artists.
