The Wellesley High School Raiders completed one of their finest seasons on Thanksgiving Day, defeating Needham by a 34-14 score and finishing the season 10-1. (More game details here from the Boston Globe and here on Wicked Local)
Senior Grant Chryssicas, the best offensive and defensive player I’ve seen on the field in the couple of games I’ve attended over the past two seasons, had a day he’ll never forget by scoring 4 touchdowns. Needham was right in the game, trailing 13-7 with about 5 minutes left in the half, but Wellesley got tricky with a flea-flicker and extended the lead to 20-7. The Raiders never looked back.

The Wellesley boys, who only played 2 of their games at home this year because of the new field being constructed, exacted a measure of revenge on behalf of the Wellesley girls, who fell to Needham the day before in the annual Powder Puff flag football game.
