Wellesley Free Library is currently exhibiting a large collection of paintings and sculptures (many depicting animals) from the late Shay Rieger, who created much of her abstract realism art while living in Greenwich Village. Some of the work is for sale, and a couple of the sculptures — a hen and a lamb — were donated to the library by Rieger’s niece.
Shay’s work is heartfelt, imaginative.. totally original!
She lived in Greenwich Village NY her whole working life, and represents an era in modern art that is long gone and precious!
please come and enjoy her originality!
Melissa Fountain, her niece
