Every time I come across one of these Wellesley Council on Aging Highlights newsletters, I’m tempted to look for the Goofus and Gallant comics from those Highlights for Children magazines found in pediatricians’ offices. But alas, they are no where to be found.
What I do find, however, are lots of great activities for seniors, from trips to classes to hands-on help.

MORE: Wellesley’s Tolles-Parsons senior center topped off under rainy skies
Over the years we have had a handful of comments about our newsletter sharing the same title as the popular children’s magazine and as we prepare for our transition to the Tolles Parsons Center in 2017, we are considering a change to the newsletter title. I am glad you have posted about our many wonderful and diverse offerings. I like to say that we have “something for everyone” but that tag line is already taken by our friends at Wellesley Recreation. Our Senior Activities Coordinator, Ashley Shaheen, deserves much credit for planning and organizing so many varied programs. Suggestions are always welcome. We look forward to many wonderful opportunities for the whole community in 2017!
Gayle Thieme, Director of Senior Services
As a lifelong Wellesley resident and long time senior participant at our COA, I can attest to all the wonderful activities, lectures and events organized for us. I can also confirm the excitement of so many seniors as we anticipate the grand opening of our long-awaited Tolles Parsons Center now under construction with an anticipated occupancy date of Fall 2017!
