From Dana Hall School:
The Dana Hall Art Gallery presents a show by May Beattie called Sculpture and Installation through Feb. 3.
“By reusing and reconfiguring natural and manmade materials, I create environments, new life forms and potential new (mis)uses of common objects,” Beattie said. “Re-forming materials into the unintended can lead to strange and sometimes absurd conclusions. I hope for a viewer or participant in my work to have an unexpected experience with these materials.”

Beattie is part of the new Scattergood-Moore Artist- in-Residence Program, established by a Dana Hall alumna in honor of long-time Dana art teacher Gene Scattergood-Moore to bring in up-and- coming artists to show their work and collaborate with students. In addition to working in the gallery daily, Beattie will be teaching wheel-throwing workshops to the ceramics class and working with students in the ArtLAB class.
Located in the Classroom Building, the Dana Hall Art Gallery is open to the public Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The gallery is closed weekends and school holidays.
