Wellesley this month will ratchet up efforts to get residents and those who shop in town to Bring Your Own Bag, as the environmentally-focused bag bylaw goes into effect.
Residents approved the plastic bag ban earlier this year and it goes into effect on Jan. 25 for big stores and April 12 for small ones.
A banner will hang at the Wellesley RDF and you’ll start to see posters featuring the graphic shown above, designed by Wellesley’s Maria Kelleher, at high-traffic spots in town and on Natural Resources Commission bulletin boards.
Some retailers will donate the savings reaped from patrons not hitting them up for bags to various charities.
