Wellesley High athletes took their acts on the road Sunday, with the girls and boys basketball teams playing at the Boston Garden, and WHS indoor track athletes participating at the frosh/soph meet at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center down the road.
The girls’ basketball team defeated Lincoln-Sudbury by a score of 37-31, while the boys fell the Needham by a count of 47-32.
Highlights at the track meet included sophomore Maggie Donahue winning the girls’ mile race in 5:10.10 — a good 9 seconds ahead of the runner-up — and sisters Julia and Anna Jordahl-Henry finishing 1-2 in the high jump. On the boys’ side, Colby Stakun-Pickering (seen below, in black, in the 4×200 relay) won the 55-meter dash.
