Now that the holidays are over, you can responsibly dispose of your trees and greens and support Wellesley Scouts at the same time. Venture Crew 42, a co-ed branch of the Boy Scouts, is running a tree pick-up service on January 7 to fund the group’s work in the coming year. For a donation of $20-30, the crew will pick up your Christmas tree and any other holiday greenery and take it to the Wellesley RDF for mulching. Sign up by email: venturec42@gmail.com.
Residents are encouraged to dispose of trees at the year-round brush area of the Recycling & Disposal Facility after removing all ornaments, tinsel etc. That area has the advantage of heavy equipment that grinds up the trees into wood chips and compost, something that’s just not going to happen if trees are dumped will-nilly all over town.
