5 Bites Cupcakes, the 141 Linden St. sweet treats shop, has shut its doors in Wellelsey. Known for its trans-fat free offerings, nut-free kitchen, and confections such as the Mudslide (Chocolate oreo cake filled with chocolate sweet cream, dipped in chocolate ganache) and the Sno-Cone (cupcakes filled with sweet cream, topped with white frosting and a blizzard of colored sugar sprinkles), the shuttered shop garnered many awards for its top-quality creations.

In a post on the business’ Facebook page, owner Beth Finnegan says, “It is with the utmost sadness that I post this…I will be closing our Wellesley location. It wasn’t an easy decision it was one of the hardest and saddest I’ve ever made! I want to thank everyone for your support and kindness through the 9 years. I can not put in words how much I appreciate you all! I will still have a commercial kitchen in Natick for orders and will continue to be nut free! Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough but I truly thank you all!!❤❤
