Congratulations to Wellesley honorees of Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

February 15, 2017 by Deborah Brown Leave a Comment

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program is the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the United States. Students submit works in a number of categories including photography, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media. Work is judged on originality, technical skill and emergence of a personal voice or vision. Gold Key winners will move on to the national competition. National Award winners will be announced in mid-March.

Here are some pictures courtesy Dana Hall of some of their Gold Key winners’ work. We’d love to post some WPS students’ entries, so please send them along.

Dana Hall’s Soomin Mah won a Gold Key for her sculpture titled, “Emotion Processing”

Dana Hall’s Amera Youssef won a Gold Key for her mixed media work, “Survival”
