The Wellesley Historical Society‘s next Artifacts After Hours event will feature a lecture by Wellesley resident Tom Paine, a descendant of Declaration of Independence signer Robert Treat Paine. Drinks and light food will be served.
Paine will discuss his ancestor’s work in the Continental Congress and will display Robert Treat Paine’s copy of Common Sense (written by his cousin Thomas Paine) that has been passed down as a family heirloom since the 1700s.
The event will take place at the Wellesley Community Center, 219 Washington Street, on Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. (this event was postponed from Feb. 9 due to snow)
