As we reported earlier this month, E.A. Davis in Wellesley Square will be the site for shooting of scenes from the upcoming movie Daddy’s Home 2 starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.
The classic Wellesley department store now says it will be closed Monday through Wednesday (March 27-29) to go Hollywood, and will have a special event to kick things off on Sunday.
Belclare condo tenants across the street should have sweet views of the action. And we’re guessing that E.A. Davis neighbor Blue Ginger might attract a few famous guests.
The original Daddy’s Home from 2015 is a comedy about a biological dad and stepdad tussling for the love of a family, with Ferrell playing the nerdy stepdad and Wahlberg the tough guy biological dad. The sequel, according to movie site IMDB, will also feature Linda Cardellini, Mel Gibson, John Cena, John Lithgow and others. The film is slated to be released in November and promises to include a holiday theme.
Wellesley has actually become something of a movie location magnet in recent years. Last year, a movie called Thoroughbred was shot partly in Wellesley.
