While Wellesley is buzzing about “Daddy’s Home 2” being shot in town this week, take note that a film called “We Don’t Belong Here” that was shot partially on the edge of town in 2014 will be released soon.
When the film crews arrived three years ago at Elm Bank Reservation, which sits at the intersection of Wellesley, Dover and Natick, their movie was tentatively called “The Greens are Gone”, but has since been renamed. This thriller/drama about a dysfunctional family stars Catherine Keener, Anton Yelchin, Carey Elwes, Maya Rudolph and others.
You can catch a glimpse of the Cheney Bridge in the trailer below, at the 1:43 second mark. That’s the bridge that allows you to enter the reservation from Rte. 16.
It’s unclear whether the movie will hit theatres, but supposedly it will be available digitally, including on DVD, on April 4.
