Save the date for the WHJWC kitchen and home tour — Saturday, May 6

March 9, 2017 by Deborah Brown Leave a Comment

WHJWC Kitchen & Home Tour, 2017

Let’s play three truths and a lie. Truth number 1: The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC) Kitchen and Home Tour will take place on Saturday, May 6, 11am – 3pm. Truth number two: each house will have superb local restaurants and caterers on hand to offer gourmet bites to sustain you as you move from house to house. Truth number 3: each home will have a pop-up boutique set up so that no one need finish the day empty-handed (or without a Mother’s Day gift).

Here’s the lie: The WJWC Kitchen and Home Tour takes place on alternate years. Nope and nope. It’s pretty much an annual thing, folks.

WHJWC Kitchen & Home Tour, 2017

Not only is it still an annual event, the Kitchen and Home Tour is still put together for a great cause (the proceeds benefit local non-profits and scholarship programs), and the fundraiser still promises to be a good time. Expanding the tour for the second time to include not only the kitchens, but the entire first floor of each home, has breathed new life into the event. It’s like a new and improved party, one where there’s no need for everyone to congregate in the kitchen. Go ahead, spread out and enjoy each home, which range from the newly constructed to remodeled architectural gems.

One more truth from a seasoned Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour guest: comfortable slip-on, slip-off footwear is a must, since all guests are expected to take off their shoes at each residence and don provided booties to protect the homeowners’ floors.

So get Saturday, May 6, Kitchen Tour into your calendar right now. In the meantime, you can find sneak peeks of the homes, and information as it’s updated on the WHJWC’s Instagram and Facebook.
