Before the spring’s busy road race schedule kicks off,  Wellesley Community Children’s Center will get things warmed up with its 37th annual Fun Run & Fun Fair on Saturday, April 1st from 8:30am-12:00pm in the Dorothy Towne Field House at Wellesley College’s Keohane Sports Center.

Races will be held for children ages 3 to 12. The fee to take part is $7 for the first race and $3 for additional races or siblings; includes a runner’s number and racer ribbon. There’s also a toddler race for one- and two-year-olds.

Other games and activities include face painting, ring toss, soccer shoot-outs, Frisbee toss, and lollipop pulls. Hand stamps can be purchased at the event for $10 for individuals or $25 for the entire family.

Local businesses and families also donate gift certificates, experiences,  goods and cash as prizes for a raffle and silent auction and raffle (more info here).

All proceeds from the event benefit programs for the Wellesley Community Children’s Center, which was established in 1971 to provide childcare for area families.
