Rte. 9 in Wellesley about to get as beautiful as rest of town

Entering Wellesley, Rte. 9 East

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that work-related activities related to a $7M project to repair and improve Rte. 9 throughout Wellesley will begin on April 24 and is expected to be done by fall. Construction, including resurfacing and other repairs, will occur at night during off-peak hours, according to MassDOT.

Work will begin eastbound from the Natick line, then shift to westbound later in the process. Expect lane closures during nighttime hours, so Rte. 9 might best be avoided at night during this work period.

Among the other upgrades to Rte. 9 in Wellesley, the town is also looking forward to the Wellesley Sports Center opening next year on Rte. 9 east.
