Wellesley Rotary Club bags 400 Arbor Day saplings in record time
For the past twenty years thanks to the Wellesley Rotary Club, every fourth grader in Wellesley has been given a tree to plant at home in honor of Arbor Day, which this year falls on Friday, April 28.
Suzy Jordan, Wellesley Town Horticultural technician, earlier this month led 15 volunteers in bagging 400 Sweet Gum saplings with dirt in plastic bags for distribution to the students. If this jogs your memory and you’re suddenly recalling a tree in your yard planted ages ago by your child, send us a picture. We’d love to show everyone how it’s coming along.
