The Wellesley High School Sinfonia and Honors Chamber Orchestra will perform their final concert of the season on Tuesday May 16 at 7PM at the WHS Katherine L. Babson Jr. Auditorium. Admission is free, and all are invited to attend.
Among the pieces to be performed by Sinfonia is “American Reel” by Kirt Mosier, described as a “fresh and energetic composition which blends the sounds of the Ireland with the sounds of America.“
The Wellesley Honors Chamber Orchestra will perform several pieces, including “Divertissement for 2 Solo Violins and String Orchestra” by Igor Frolov. This composition will feature graduating seniors Elissa Moy and Jamie Kweon as soloists. You can view the ensemble’s recent MICCA Gold Medal Showcase performance at Boston Symphony Hall here.
To conclude the concert, the Sinfonia, Honors Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will combine to perform “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
