Think, buy, and grow local — plant sale at Mass Hort, May 13

The Gardeners’ Fair will take place Saturday, May 13, 9am to 3pm at Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s The Gardens at Elm Bank, Route 16, in Wellesley.

The Gardeners’ Fair is an opportunity to find rare and unusual perennials, trees and shrubs; ready-to- plant herbs and vegetables; and tomato varieties by the dozens. It’s also a chance to attend talks by experts, find unique garden tools, garden ornaments and accessories, as well as other gardening necessities. The fair will feature tomatoes by Allandale Farm, as well as the New England Unit of the Herb Society Plant Sale. Admission is $5 per car for the general public, free for Mass Hort members.

Mass Hort will sponsor daily children’s programs and garden tours. Don’t miss the Wellesley Band, which will entertain at 1pm.

The Rhododendron Society is featuring a Flower Show in the Hunnewell Building in addition to selling rhododendrons and azaleas at the Fair. The Mass Master Gardener Association will offer pH soil testing at the Gardeners Fair.
