Cat Whitehill, who won a gold medal with the women’s soccer team at the 2004 Olympics in Greece and played professionally with the Boston Breakers, has been named as the new girls’ soccer coach at Wellesley High.
Whitehill was an All-American defender with the University of North Carolina in the early 2000s, and was collegiate soccer’s top player in 2003.
Whitehill has been a strong proponent of girls’ and women’s sports, including through support of Title IX.
