Parents of kids taking part in programs at Bates Elementary School this summer have been notified by Wellesley Police about the arrest Thursday of a summer seasonal custodian who allegedly possessed child pornography. Wellesley Police assisted investigators from the Massachusetts State Police in executing a search warrant at a home in the Boulder Brook area of town, and state police arrested a man, who was later arraigned in Dedham District Court. The suspect was hired, after a CORI check, and began work on June 28. While employed at Bates, he was under the direct supervision of a full-time custodian at all times, and authorities say there is no indication that he has had any inappropriate contact with children.
Further questions should be directed to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
