We’ve paddled along the Charles River many times over the years, but a Sunday kayaking trip from Wellesley through Dover, South Natick and Needham (ending at Redwing Bay) couldn’t be beat. We spotted 75 painted turtles (yes, we counted(, a zillion blooming flowers (no, we didn’t count), a heron eating a fish, a rope swing that we dared not use, and as a grand finale, saw four young guys jumping off an abandoned railroad bridge.
