Alba, a contemporary women’s clothing boutique that opened at 22 Church St. in Church Square last November, has changed its name to Sloane & Ivy, and tweaked its business model a bit. Owner Kate Phelan, a local girl who grew up just down the road in Weston, decided to part ways with her former business partner in order to focus on bringing customers the curated looks she knows and loves, and to give some more attention to the on-line part of Sloane & Ivey. “The fashion quality is the same,” says Phelan, “and the opportunity to take things in the direction I wanted them to go was a decision that was easy to make.”
Meanwhile, Wellesley lovers of premium roasted and chocolate covered nuts are going, well, nuts waiting for Fastachi to crack open in the fall in the space adjacent to Sloane & Ivy.
