Wellesley Hoops registration opens

September 20, 2017 by Bob Brown Leave a Comment

Registration for Wellesley Hoops (for players in grades 4-9) is now open at www.wellesleybasketball.org. Wellesley Hoops is a balanced league where coaches draft players and everyone makes a team!  Practices take place once a week on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evenings and teams play on Saturdays from mid-November through the end of February (playoffs begin the final week of February and continue through the beginning of March).  No travel is required in this league as teams only play other teams in Wellesley.  Registration will be open until October 20th.  Click HERE to register.

3rd Grade Hoops: Wellesley Hoops is also offering a practice and play league for 3rd graders this year. Small teams will meet at Schofield school on Saturdays for ½ hour of instruction/practice and then a 30-minute game.  More info can be found by clicking HERE.  Click HERE to register.

Want even more basketball? Registration for Metrowest travel teams is now open too.  The Metrowest program is a competitive travel league for select boys and girls in grades 5-8. Most age divisions have more than one stratified team and any interested player must attend tryouts.  If selected for a team, players will practice on Monday and Wednesday evenings and games occur on Sundays from early December through the end of February, including school vacations.  Registration will be open until September 22nd.  Tryouts will be held during the weeks of September 25th – October 5th.  The detailed tryout schedule will be posted online as soon as it is available.  For more info on tryouts, please click HERE.  Click HERE to register.

Please note that the majority of players who participate in the Metrowest Travel league also participate in Wellesley Hoops.  WYBA strongly encourages participation in both leagues and works to ensure that there are no practice or game conflicts between the two.

Finally, we will once again be offering the Mini Raider instructional program for players in 2nd grade.  These skills clinics are taught by professional coaches in a fun filled environment. Emphasis is on ball handling, passing, shooting, and enhancing game time strategies.  Mini-Raider registration should open up next week.  We are just working to finalize the time slots.

Click on the REGISTER ONLINE tab on the left and side of the homepage to sign-up for any of these programs.  More information on all of our programs can be found at www.wellesleybasketball.org.  Please email wellesleybasketball@gmail.com if you have any questions.
