Wellesley Friendly Aid makes annual appeal

October 17, 2017 by admin 1 Comment

Wellesley Friendly Aid camp signWellesley Friendly Aid has launched its annual fundraising campaign with solicitation letters to Wellesley residents, businesses and other
organizations.

WFA, which has been operating for more than 100 years, provides financial aid or temporary volunteer assistance to Wellesley families experiencing emergency or hardship situations. It also funds scholarships to send children of Wellesley families in need to summer camp and summer educational enrichment programs. Through the Wellesley Connects program, WFA assists first generation Wellesley High School juniors and seniors with navigating the college application process. In addition, WFA loans medical equipment, at no charge, to Wellesley residents of all income levels and, as a participant in the Town’s English as a Second Language program, funds the cost of books and provides meeting space used by the program.

Individuals or families in Wellesley who could benefit from any of these programs or services are encouraged to contact Karen Mondell, Program Administrator, at 781-235- 3960 or at office@wellesleyfriendlyaid.org to determine if WFA can be of help.

For more information or to donate online, visit our website at wellesleyfriendlyaid.org or call 781-235- 3960.

For some years now, I consider myself lucky to be one of the seniors in Friendship Circle sponsored by our Wellesley Friendly Aid in conjunction with the Wellesley Service League ladies. A great weekly event and luncheon where we get pampered and catered to by the volunteers!
