Wellesley’s Centennial Park access road to be closed October 5 – 10

The access road for Centennial Park will be closed for park improvements from October 5, 2017 to October 10, 2017, under the direction of the Department of Public Works.

Over the summer, the popular park’s driveway and parking lot were repaved. Next up according to Kristin Knudson-Groh from the DPW Director’s office: “Gravel will be placed and spread just off the edge of the paved surface, and the construction area will be cleaned up. Temporary parking space lines will be marked at this time and more permanent lines will be painted later in the fall.”

These fall-blooming asters, native to Wellesley (and other places) will bloom right through October. You can find them along sunny paths all over town, where they attract nectar-loving butterflies and bees.

    Thank you! I remember being trapped in The parking lot for hours due to cars getting stuck on the driveway from ice and snow! Great call in paving this area!
