The Weavers’ Guild of Boston, the country’s oldest weavers’ guild at 95 years young, will hold its Annual Sale and Exhibit at the Wellesley Village Church (i.e., Wellesley Congregational Church), 2 Central Street, on October 26-28.
The Weavers’ Guild of Boston Annual Juried Sale offers shoppers over 2,000 individually crafted items, including scarves and shawls for all seasons and occasions. The sale also includes colorful blankets, placemats and other household items, as well as other unique gifts, such as woven glass. Most items are handwoven, though knitted, felted and/or sewn pieces are also available.
Also, on exhibit is the show titled “Summer and Winter.” It showcases the talents of the weaver’s craft utilizing the summer and winter weave structure, often used in traditional coverlets.
