Wellesley’s Andrew Scherrer, who set up a permanent orienteering course at the town forest for his Boy Scout Eagle Project, is inviting anyone who would like to give the course a whirl to come on down to Longfellow Pond on Sunday from 1-3pm.
The idea will be to speed your way through the scavenger hunt-style course as quickly as possible using a map and compass. “It’s easy to learn and a fun way to exercise your body and mind as you enjoy the outdoors. It’s a sport for everyone and beginners are always welcome,” says Scherrer, a member of Boy Scout troop 185.
