The annual Scouting for Food event takes place this Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9am-1pm, as local scouts pick up donations from Wellesley doorsteps.
Meats, fish, beef stew, ravioli and tomatoes (all canned) are among big needs, along with peanut butter and jelly, coffee and vegetable oil. Laundry detergent, bar soap, toilet paper and paper towels are also sought.
This will be Wellesley Food Pantry’s largest intake of the year and is important for stocking shelves in advance of the holidays and winter. More than 200 volunteers will help sort and shelve an estimated 15 tons of donations.
Residents are encouraged to leave their bags out before 9am.
