Wellesley Free Library, which currently offers story times in English and Taiwanese, has added Mandarin to the mix.
According to the Friends of Wellesley Free Library, which is sponsoring the program, numerous inquiries from library patrons have been made about Mandarin story times.
The 6-class series begins on Nov. 6 from 10-11am. Children ages 1-3 will be introduced to some basic Chinese words and characters and will also learn a bit about Chinese culture. The classes will be led by Yajuan Zhang, a teacher at the G.B.C.C.A. in Boston and the N.C.L.S. in Newton.
