The annual Sprague Cookie Walk was as sweet as ever, as families paid $3 a bag to make sure their kids’ brown bag treats would be the envy of the lunch table. The PTO fundraiser has evolved over the years to include much more than just cookies. There was also a raffle, face painting, a holiday plant sale, a spirit gear sale, and a magic show.

Hi Jenn
Thank you for getting back to me. I heard last night from Jill Fishmann, and discovered that I was in school at Sprague with her sister Joanne!! What a small world. Just spoke with Joanne and she was going to get me two cookbooks when she sees Jill over the holidays. Hope that is okay.

Attended Sprague in the 50’s. Are the cookbooks still for sale? Would love to buy one for myself, and my best friend who lives in Houston TX. We met in 2nd grade😀 My Dad was President of the PTA back in the day.
Thanks

Hi, Sue. I have forwarded your message to the current Sprague PTO president. Great to hear that, like now, it wasn’t unusual for a dad to head up a PTO.
Jill Fischmann says
Yes they are $10 each and we would love for you to buy one!!!! My sisters were there in the 50’s also…Joanne and Patty D’Andrea…

Oh my gosh. Jill. I was in school with Joanne. We live in the same community at Great Island. We just reconnected here a couple of years ago. I was in Wellesley a couple of weeks ago, and drove by your house! I grew up on Maurice Rd. What a small world. I would actually like 2 cookbooks. The other is for JoAnne Rando Kuzdzal. Don’t know if you remember her, but your sister sang at her wedding. I can send you a check for the cookbooks, and then pick them up after the holiday, if that works. Let me know Thanks
